It’s all about getting involved
If you want to see change, you have to make change.
If you want your voice to be heard, you have to show up.
I personally took the opportunity to become actively involved in advocacy and policy as it relates to cannabis, in particular, California’s Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA) to protect patient’s rights and the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (Prop 64) to legalize recreational marijuana in the State of CA.
My current advocacy work extends to the cities and other localities in California to first help reverse old fears and propaganda-derived opinions and continue on to educate council members about the basic fundamentals of cannabis so they can enact fair, equitable and inclusive ordinances and policy for their community. I spent over 3 years alone actively working with the City of West Hollywood to develop and eventually craft a progressive cannabis ordinance which allows for the development of a new retail marketplace along with consumption lounges to provide a safe place for cannabis consumption.
I am the Chair of the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Cannabis Policy Committee as well as an active member of the Governing Affairs Committee for the same body. From early 2015-2017, I served on the leadership team of the Women Grow Los Angeles chapter. I have successfully produced countless events to educate and empower new and existing cannabis businesses via a quality speaker series and high level business networking called Connecting Cannabis.
